Auschwitz Birkenau Concentration Camp was established in 1940 in the outskirts of town Oswiecim - a Polish town annexed to the Third Reich. Auschwitz become a symbol of genocide and the holocaust. More then a million people were killed in gas chambers or died of disease or exhaustion. Most of the prisoners were Jews. In 1947 Concentration Camp was turned into a Museum-Memorial. In 1979 was entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The maximum size of bags and backpacks allowed to carry on the Museum grounds is 30 x 20 x 10 cm.

ITINERARY:

  • transfer from the hotel, apartments, city centre, meeting point (about 1 hour 20 minutes)
  • guided tour in the Auschwitz Camp (about 2,5 hours)
  • transfer to the Birkenau Camp (about 3km)
  • visiting of the Birkenau Camp (about 1 hour)
  • transfer back to Krakow (about 1hour 20 minutes)
